Use the Assembly Information subtask to view quantity and cost information about the assembly part selected in the main screen for the selected proposal ID and revision, if applicable. Maintain this information in the Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Indented and Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Summarized applications after you run the Compute Proposal Item Costs application.
The component part (and its assembly) must exist at the specified level of the PBOM.
These fields display the assembly part ID, revision (if applicable), the provisional part type (if the assembly part is a provisional part), the make or buy status, and the assembly part description as it appears for the selected proposal line in the main screen table window. The PBOM Status displays the assembly's status as "F" (Firmed) or "U" (Unfirmed), as indicated in the Maintain Proposal BOM screen.
This field displays the available inventory for the assembly part as it appears in both the Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Indented and Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Summarized applications. You can modify the Available Inventory column in both of these screens, as well as the Available Inventory field in the Inventory subtask, so that a number of unit and extended costs for the assembly part and its components can be recalculated.
These fields default from the entries made in the Proposal Item Costs subtask of the Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Indented and Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Summarized applications, where you can add fixed charges to the estimated cost of the item. The fixed cost line charge type code is associated with the additional fixed unit cost, if applicable.
This group box displays the assembly's quantity for each breakpoint, and associated direct unit cost amount, burden unit cost amount, and net required total cost amount for each breakpoint quantity. Calculate these fields using the Compute Proposal Item Costs application and maintain them in the Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Indented and Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates - Summarized applications.
The system calculates the quantity breakpoint for each item by multiplying the part's End Item Quantity Per and the Breakpoint Quantity for each Proposal Quantity Break field.
This field displays the Proposal Direct Unit Cost from the Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates screen. The system calculates this value by summing each of the following cost amounts for the component as it appears for the proposal row's selected breakpoint:
material cost + labor cost + subcontract cost + miscellaneous 1 cost + miscellaneous 2 cost
This field displays the Proposal Burden Unit Cost from the Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates screens. The system calculates this value by summing each of the following cost amounts and burden rates (as indicated in the Burden subtask of the Maintain Proposal Master screen) for the component as it appears for the proposal row's selected breakpoint:
(material cost * material burden rate) + (labor cost * labor burden rate) + (subcontract cost * subcontractor burden rate) + (miscellaneous 1 cost * miscellaneous 1 burden rate) + (miscellaneous 2 cost * miscellaneous 2 burden rate)
This field displays the Net Required Extended Cost from the Maintain PBOM Cost Estimates applications, and is adjustable depending on the value in the Available Component Inventory field for the row. The calculation is as follows:
(Proposal Total Unit Cost * (the proposal quantity based on the selected breakpoint number - Available Component Inventory)) + Fixed Cost
If the required quantity is less than or equal to zero, this field will display zero.
