DOCUMENTS

The Documents subtask displays all documents that are related to the selected component part line in the main screen.  Documents are assigned to standard parts in the Maintain Parts, Maintain Documents and Release Documents screens in Costpoint Product Definition.  Provisional Parts can also have documents assigned to them in the Maintain Provisional Parts screen. 

Part

These fields display the part ID from the main screen, along with the part description.

Rev

This field displays the revision level, if applicable, of the selected part.

U/M

This field displays the unit of measure assigned to this part from the main screen.

Table Window

Type

This field displays the type of document assigned in the Maintain Documents screen.  Document types are set up in both the Product Definition Controls menu in Costpoint Product Definition and in the Bills of Material Controls menu.

Document

This field displays the document ID to which this part will be linked. Documents are set up in the Maintain Documents screen in both Costpoint Product Definition and Bills of Material.

Revision

This field displays the revision of the document to which this part will be linked.

Name

This field displays the name of the document.

Status

This field displays the release status of the document.

Size

This field displays the document size code. Document size codes are established and maintained in both the Product Definition Controls menu in Costpoint Product Definition and in the Bills of Material Controls menu in Costpoint Bills of Material.

Media

This field displays the document media code. Document media codes are established and maintained in both the Product Definition Controls menu in Costpoint Product Definition and in the Bills of Material Controls menu in Costpoint Bills of Material.

CAGE

This field displays the CAGE ID associated with this document.

Sheets

This field displays the number of pages in the document.

Organization

This field displays the organization that is assigned to control the document.

Maintenance Group

This field displays the Maintenance Group assigned to this document.  Maintenance Groups are established and maintained in the Document Maintenance Groups screen.

Location

This field displays the location of the document, as defined in the Location subtask of the Maintain Documents screen. You can also access the Documents menu in Costpoint Product Definition. When you enter a document type code in the Maintain Documents screen, the default location for that type code (i.e., where the document is stored) is loaded into the Location column.  If you change the location of the document, you can update this field in the Maintain Documents screen.  Select the Launch pushbutton to access the document. This field is not editable in this screen.

Effective Starting Date

This field displays the date on which the document will become effective for the part.

Effective Ending Date

This field displays the date on which the document will stop being effective for the part.

Configuration

This field displays the configuration of the part.

Print on Purch Repts

This field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced for this part on purchase orders, requisitions, and request for quotes and "N" (No) if not.

Print on Receipt Trvlr

This field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced on PO receipt travelers for this part and "N" (No) if not.

Print on Assy Sheets

This field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced on manufacturing order assembly sheets for this part and "N" (No) if not.

Print on Routing Trvlr

This field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced on MO routing travelers for this part and "N" (No) if not.

ECN Pending

This field displays the status of the engineering change notice associated with this document.

Last ECN

This field displays the date of the last engineering change notice for this document.  This field is disabled if Costpoint Engineering Change Notices is being used.

Launch

Select this pushbutton to access the document indicated in the selected line item.  Make sure the entire directory path is loaded, including full server and volume name and file name in the Location column. We recommend that network drive letters not be used in the Location column unless all potential Costpoint users have this file location mapped to the same drive letter.
