This field displays the classification of the employee. Valid options are "H" (Hourly), "S" (Salary Fixed), and "F" (Salary Fluctuation Hours).
"H" - The employee is paid on an hourly basis. The employee's labor cost will always reflect the number of hours worked times the hourly rate of pay. Hourly employees can charge overtime pay types and the labor cost will reflect this.
"S" - The employee is paid the same each pay period, regardless of the number of hours worked. Employees in this category cannot charge overtime pay types unless the Allow Overtime for Salaried Employees checkbox in the Overtime Settings screen is selected and the pay type being charged has the OK for Salaried Employees checkbox selected in the Pay Types screen.
"F" - The employee is paid a salary, but the number of hours worked in a week fluctuates; the salary amount is affected by the number of hours worked. If the employee is not exempt from FLSA, overtime is paid for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week, at one and one-half times the basic rate.
This field displays the employee type that designates the employee as a "R" (Regular full-time) employee, or as a "P" (Part-time employee). Normally, part-time employees are non-exempt.
This field displays a "Y" (Yes) if the employee is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), or a "N" (No) if the employee is non-exempt and can be entitled to overtime payments. "Hourly" and "Salary Fluctuating Hours" employees are usually non-exempt.
