Use this screen to establish the control parameters used for leave period-related functions and to identify the period of time used for controlling leave accruals. You can also have leave cycle start and end dates calculated automatically.
You must establish leave periods before you can establish Leave Tables.
Enter the leave cycle code. Each active employee must be assigned to one of these leave cycles in the Basic Employee Info screen. You can establish an unlimited number of leave cycles and use up to four alphanumeric characters to define this code. This is a required field.
Enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters to describe the purpose of the leave cycle. This is a required field.
Use this non-editable drop-down box to specify the frequency type of the leave cycle. Costpoint supports four frequency types:
Monthly - Leave period ending at the end of the month
Semi-Monthly - Leave periods ending on the 15th and end of month
Weekly - One week in the leave period (seven days)
Bi-Weekly - Two weeks in the leave period (14 days)
This is a required field. You must select one of the frequency types.
Enter the maximum number of hours that the system will use to determine the accrued leave during the leave period when the leave code is based on hours worked (i.e., if the Compute Method is "H" in the Leave Tables screen). The system will determine the accrued leave amount by multiplying the leave accrual rate (in the Leave Tables screen) by the timesheet regular hours or the value in this field, whichever is less.
Enter the standard leave hours in this field when the method of accrual is by regular hours worked or 99,999.99 when the method of accrual is by pay period (Compute Method "P" in the Leave Tables screen).
Use this group box to provide the data that the system will use to automatically fill in the Leave Period table.
Use this field to designate the Leave Year you wish to add to the Leave Period table. This field is optional and works with the Number of Leave Periods, First End Date, and Last End Date fields. It relates to the automatic filling of the Leave Period table with the specified number of leave periods.
Enter the number of leave periods to be automatically filled in the Leave Period table. This field is optional and works with the First End Date field. This feature calculates the leave period start and end dates and automatically fills in the Leave Period table. Select the Add pushbutton to activate this feature, in conjunction with this field and the First End Date field.
You should refrain from adding more periods than there are in your leave year (defined in the Leave Year to be Added field), or you may have the wrong leave year assigned to some of the leave periods.
Enter the date that will be the starting point for the Leave Period table. Costpoint uses the Frequency and Number of Leave Periods fields to calculate the dates and hours in each period and adds them to the table. If entries already exist in the table, Costpoint adds the additional entries immediately following the most recent leave period end date.
This non-editable field displays the last period end date that Costpoint places in the table when you select the Add pushbutton. The system derives this value from the Number of Leave Periods, the First End Date, and the Frequency fields.
Select this pushbutton to insert entries into the Leave Cycle Schedule table. First fill in the Number of Leave Periods, the First End Date, and the Leave Year to be Added fields, then select this pushbutton. Costpoint adds the rows following the previously existing End Date.
This table displays the start dates, the end dates, an Open flag, and the leave period year for each leave period. At lease one row of information is required.
Costpoint calculates this from the End Date column and from the Frequency. You can enter a start date for a new line on the table.
This column displays the end date of the leave period. You can fill it in or you can use the automatic feature to add to it. In either case, you can change the entry.
This column identifies which leave period (row of the table) is open or active. Only one leave period can be open at a time.
This column displays the leave year in which the specific End Date falls. The leave year can be different from the calendar year in the period end date.
