LABOR GROUPS/UNIONS

If you are using Union functionality, use this screen to set up labor groups or unions. The Labor Group/ Unions table contains the codes and related descriptions for the Labor Group/Unions that exist within your company. The Labor Group field is required in the Salary Info and History screen in Costpoint Employee if you selected the Enable Wage Determination Feature checkbox in the Labor Settings screen. The Union field is required in the Salary Info and History screen, if you selected the Enable Union Functionality checkbox in the Labor Settings screen.

The Labor Group field is one of the key fields in the Wage Determination Rates screen, which contains hourly and fringe rates and usage codes.

You must set up Labor Group/Union codes before you can complete the Wage Determination Rates, Union Profile, or Salary Info and History screens. You can add to this screen at any time, and you can establish an unlimited number of codes and descriptions.

Lab Group Code/Union ID

After selecting the New Line button on the toolbar, enter up to three alphanumeric characters in this user-defined field to uniquely identify this labor group or union. An example would be a union such as United Bricklayers, or employees covered under a Service Contract Act or Davis Bacon Act project. This is a required field.

This field will be entitled Union ID if you selected the Enable Union Functionality checkbox in the Labor Settings screen. If you did not select the Enable Union Functionality checkbox in the Labor Settings screen, this field will be entitled Lab Group Code.

Description

Enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters to name or describe this labor group or union. This field is required.

Table Information

Changes to this screen update the Labor Group/Unions - LAB_GRP table.
