Use this screen establish location IDs for each warehouse, which will be used by Costpoint Inventory to determine where inventory is stored.
Establish Locations when initializing Costpoint Inventory, following the setup of warehouses, and before processing inventory transactions.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the warehouse ID to which to assign location IDs. The warehouse ID must already be established in the Warehouse table.
Enter a location ID containing up to 15 alphanumeric characters for this warehouse. The location ID structure for this warehouse has been established in the Warehouses screen.
Enter a description of up to 30 characters for the location ID. This field is optional.
Select a location type for this location ID. Location type is a system-defined code used to classify inventory records by locations. The system-defined types are as follows:
On-Hold - This location contains parts that should not be counted as available.
Incoming Inspection - This location contains parts that have been received but not accepted or rejected.
MRB - This location contains parts being reviewed by the Materials Review Board. The "MRB" type and the "Incoming Inspection" type are used in a similar fashion.
On-Hand - This location contains parts that are available for use.
Reinspection - This location contains parts that have already been accepted or rejected but need to go back through that process.
Shipping - This location contains parts that have been removed from stock for shipping. The "Shipping" type and the "On Hand" type are used in a similar fashion.
Changes to this screen update the following tables:

INVT_WHSE_LOC
This screen also relies on the settings in the MRP_SETTINGS_CORP and PC_SETTINGS tables. Information for locations is also stored in and/or pulled from the S_LOC_TYPE table.
