Use this screen to select the method used for looking up the increase percent used to derive the new salary amount when updating the employee Salary Info and History table in Costpoint Employee. The system uses this data to derive the new salary amounts whenever you add a new line to an employee's Salary Info and History table. You can add the new line either manually or by using the Update Employee Salary Based on Review screen in Costpoint Employee, if a performance rating is also included on the line.
This will apply only to "Grade" and "Quartile" types of compensation plans (plans which have a Plan Type of Min-Mid-Max or Quartile in the Compensation Plans screen). "Step" plans (plans which have a Plan Type of Step in the Compensation Plans screen) automatically have a one-to-one relationship with the salary increase.
You can always override the employee's salary amount in the Salary Info and History table. If your plan contains exceptions based on grade for percentage increases, use this table to identify those exceptions. The system will always use this table before using the Performance Rating Percent by Plan table. You can use the Auto Load pushbutton to automatically create this table.
You must establish compensation plans and performance ratings before initializing this table. You should establish this table as part of your system initialization.
Use the options in this group box to create increments between performance ratings for this table. For example, your ratings may be "4.0" and "3.0," but an employee may receive a rating of "3.5." If your choice was One-Half, the table will fill with "4.0," "3.5," and "3.0" ratings for each quadrant. This field is used only for the Auto Load feature.

Select this pushbutton to auto load this table with a selected compensation plan. After you select the Auto Load pushbutton, a Lookup table appears on the screen. Highlight the Comp. Plan code you want to load and choose the Select pushbutton. A new dialog box will appear, and the selected plan code will display in the Enter Compensation Plan field; select the OK pushbutton to load this plan. If the plan is a "Step" plan (i.e., plans which have a Plan Type of Step in the Compensation Plans screen), you will receive an error message, and you must select a new plan code that is a "Grade" or "Quartile" type of plan. The data that is associated with the selected compensation plan code will load automatically, and you can then edit it in the main screen table window. The Auto Load process will generate a line for each plan, for each quadrant within a plan, and for each rating within a quadrant. If you have selected a rating increment in the Rating Increment group box, those increments will be included in this table.
Changes to this screen update the RATING_BY_GRADE table.
