Use this screen to define "qualifying events" and to establish the associated lengths of coverage for these events, as defined by federal regulations and company policy. You can establish an unlimited number of qualifying events.
You must initialize this table before you can initialize the Track COBRA Elections screen in Costpoint Employee.
After selecting the New Line button on the toolbar, enter a code, up to 10 alphanumeric characters, that will uniquely identify a qualifying event. This is a required field.
Enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters to describe this event code. This is a required field.
Enter up to three numeric characters to represent the number of months of coverage that are required by law for this qualifying event. This is a required field.
Enter up to three numeric characters to represent the number of months of coverage allowed by your company for this qualifying event. This field is required and the number must be greater than or equal to the Required Length.
Termination of employment (other than for gross misconduct)
Reduction in hours of employment
Covered employee's death
Divorce or legal separation of a spouse from a covered employee
A covered employee's entitlement to Medicare
A child's loss of dependent status
