EMPLOYEE LIFE EVENTS

Use this screen in Costpoint Benefits to assign life event code information to individual employees. If a Life Event's Benefit Qualifying Event checkbox is selected, the employee is eligible for benefits enrollment between the Life Event Date and the Change Period End Date. If Life Event information is set up in the ESS Life Event Setup screen, entering a record into this table will enable the employee to go through the life event's user-flow.

Change Period Days

This non-editable field displays the number of days that the employee is eligible to select/change benefit elections after a life event date. This value defaults based on the life event entered. This is the amount of time that the employee is eligible to select/change benefit elections after the life event date.  It is also the number of days that the employee is eligible to make changes and/or selections in the life event's user flow in ESS.

Change Period End Date

Enter the ending date of the change period for the life event. The date in this field is the last day on which the employee can make benefit selections/changes in Costpoint, as well as the last day that the employee can make life event user flow selections/changes in ESS.

Benefit Qualifying Event

If this checkbox is selected, the life event qualifies an employee for benefit enrollment or benefit changes.

Default Benefit Package

Use this column to specify the benefit package that will be used to determine an employee's enrollment options when going through the Life Event's user-flow in ESS.  If you leave this column blank, ESS will use the default that matches the employee's setup that has the highest default priority (lowest number).
