PRINT GENERAL LEDGER POSTING SUMMARY 

Use this screen to print posting summaries for selected account/orgs. This report prints individual journal postings by journal and sequence number for the selected period. Information printed includes the journal code (A/P, C/R, P/R, etc.) posting sequence, and period that the journal was posted.

Run this report whenever you need to review the posting detail that supports the balance of a given account/org combination.

Note: You can apply org security to this function. Use this optional feature to grant or remove rights for individual users to view and/or update specific organizations. In order to do so, you must first set up the necessary org security screens in Costpoint System Administration. You can then activate org security through the use of the Maintain Users and System Settings screens. For more information about org security and how to apply it, see System Administration Special Topic SA - 5, "Organizational Security" and the documentation for the Organizational Security menu in Costpoint System Administration.

Sort

Select the appropriate radio button to sort this report either by Organization or by Account.

Select Accounts

Range Option

Enter, or use the drop-down box to select, the range of accounts that you want to include on the report. The system-defined options are "All," "One," "Range," "From Beginning," and "To End."

From/To

Enter the beginning and/or ending account for the accounts you want to include on the report. The values to be entered in these fields vary, depending on the Range Option you selected. If you selected "All" accounts, both of these fields are inactive. If you selected "One" account, enter that account in the From field. If you have elected to print a "Range" of accounts, enter the starting and ending accounts for the desired range in these fields. If you selected "To End," enter the beginning account for the desired range in the From field. If you elected to print a range up to an ending value ("From Beginning"), enter the ending account in the To field. You can use Lookup to select values from the appropriate table.

Page Break

Select this checkbox to insert a page break after each account.

Select Organizations

Range Option

Enter or select the range of organizations to be included on the G/L Posting Summary. The system-defined options "All," "One," "Range," "From Beginning," and "To End." 

From/To

Enter the starting and/or ending organization for the Organization(s) you want to include on the report. You can also use Lookup to select the values for these fields. One or both of these fields may be disabled, depending on your Range Option selection. Refer to the From/To documentation under the Select Accounts group box for more information on how these fields interact with the different Range Option selections.

Page Break

Select this checkbox to insert a page break after each organization.

Print

At least one of the checkboxes in this group box must be selected. You can select both checkboxes if you want to print both types of reports.

Current Period Summary

Select this checkbox to print current period posting summaries.

Year-To-Date Summary

Select this checkbox to print year-to-date posting summaries as of the ending period selected.

Select Ending Period

Fiscal Year

Select the fiscal year for which you want to print the report.

Period

Select the accounting period for which you want to print the report. The ending date of the period that you have selected displays in the non-editable field to the right.

Show

Inactive Accounts

Select this checkbox to print inactive accounts on the General Ledger Posting Summary report.

Unselect this checkbox to prevent inactive accounts from printing on the report.

This checkbox is selected by default.

Account/Org Names

Select this checkbox to print account and organization names on the report. If you leave the checkbox unchecked, only the account and organization IDs will be printed.

Table Information

The information on this report is stored in the G/L Posting Summary (GL_POST_SUM) table.

Hint: You can save the specified report parameters for future use. To save the selected report parameters, select the Save button on the toolbar after you have entered your report selections. Enter an appropriate ID and description for the report, and select the OK button to save. Stored report parameters are especially useful if reports are to be run through Process Manager.
