MAINTAIN REORG/ORG LINKS

This maintenance screen displays the Reorganization Organization Link table. You can use this screen to add, insert, or delete rows.

Note that there are no limits to how many orgs you link to a single reorg, or vice versa. In general, a single reorg can contain one or more orgs. However, you should link a single org to only one reorg in a given reorg structure, or you will duplicate data when running reports by reorg. When setting up your reorg/org links, be careful that you do not duplicate orgs inappropriately. You can also link reorgs and orgs in the Link Reorganizations to Orgs subtask of the Maintain Reorganization Elements screen and in the Mass Link Reorg/Orgs screen.

Organizations must already be established before they can be linked to reorganization numbers, and reorganization numbers must already be set up.

Note: You can apply org security to this function. Use this optional feature to grant or remove rights for individual users to view and/or update specific organizations. In order to do so, you must first set up the necessary org security screens in Costpoint System Administration. You can then activate org security through the use of the Maintain Users and System Settings screens. (For more information about org security and how to apply it, see System Administration Special Topic SA - 5, "Organizational Security," and the documentation for the Organizational Security menu in Costpoint System Administration.) The organizational security used when running reports by reorganization is determined by the base organization security. It is possible to set up reorganizations that link to base organizations to which you do not have access, but you cannot obtain information from reports on organizations to which you do not have rights.
