Use this screen to set up engineering change types. EC types are used to classify engineering change notices and can be used to determine which engineering change approval process to use. You can also link default priority codes, customer approval requirements, and functional groups affected by an engineering change. When you specify an engineering type on a new ECN, the default priority codes, classes, and impact groups are loaded as default values on the ECN. If you have indicated that EC approval processes are assigned by engineering types in the EC Settings screen, the system will also load the approval process. You cannot change the approval process if you load it in this way.
