MBOM ORIGINAL PART ASSEMBLIES

Use this subtask to view and update the MBOM assemblies that use the original part. If there are MBOMs that use this component in Costpoint Bills of Material, the screen will load the existing assembly parts. This subtask is enabled if the Action Code of the selected line in the main screen is "R - Replace," "V - New Rev," "O - Obsolete," or "C - Change" and an Original Part is loaded. However, this subtask will be disabled if the Action Code is "A - Add," or "V - New Rev" and you did not select the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item checkbox in the Product Definition Corporate Settings subtask of the Product Definition Settings screen in Costpoint Product Definition.

Table Window

If the Replace in All BOMs column is "Y" or the Action Code is "R - Replace" for the selected line in the main screen, all MBOM assemblies in which the Original Part/Revision is listed as a component part will load in the table window with an "O - Obsolete" Action Code. If the Action Code is "C - Change" for the selected line in the main screen, all MBOM assemblies in which the Original Part/Revision is listed as a component part will load in the table window with a blank Action Code.

Action Code

Select from the drop-down box an action this ECN will perform: "A - Add," "C - Change," "D - Delete," or "O - Obsolete." This field defaults with the action code value described in the "Table Window" section.

Line

Enter up to four digits for the line number that identifies the specific MBOM component line. This field is required.

Find

Enter up to four alphanumeric characters in this optional field for the drawing find number used for this MBOM component line. Upon populating the Line field for a new line, this field will default with zeroes, but can be changed. For example, if you enter "3" in the Line field, the Find field will default to "0003."

Assembly Part

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the assembly part ID that used the component displayed in the header.

Assy Rev

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the assembly part revision associated with the assembly part.

Assembly Description

This field displays the description of the assembly part.

Comp Type

Enter the component type code in this required field: "B" (Buy With Component), "S" (Standard), "P" (Phantom), "R" (Reference), "T" (Tool), or "D" (Deleted). If this is a new line, the default is the component's part type from the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition.

Qty Type

Enter the quantity type code in this required field: "A" (Per Assembly), "R" (As Required), or "O" (Per Order). If you have selected the As Required checkbox in the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition for the component part, or the Comp Type is "R" (Reference), the default for this field is "R." If the Comp Type is "T" (Tooling), the default for this field is "O." Otherwise, the default is "A."

Quantity

Enter up to 14 digits in this required field, including four digits after the decimal point, for the quantity of the component part required in the MBOM. If the Qty Type is "R," the default is zero. Otherwise, the default is "1."

Make/Buy

Enter "M" (Make) in this required field if the component is to be manufactured or "B" (Buy) if it is to be purchased. The default is the component part's make/buy designation from the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition.

Configuration

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the ID of the configuration in which this component will be used when planning this MBOM. This is an optional field of up to 10 alphanumeric characters. If entered, this ID must be a valid BOM configuration ID from the Configuration Identifiers screen in Costpoint Bills of Material. This field will be hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.

Configuration Description

This field displays the configuration description. This field will be hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.

Effective Starting Date

Enter the date on which this component will become effective in this MBOM. This field is required. The default is the MBOM component's Effective Starting Date; otherwise, the Suggested Effective Date in the ECN Detail subtask will display.

Effective Ending Date

Enter the date on which this component will cease being effective in this MBOM. This field is optional and can be changed. Depending on the Action Code in the main screen, this field defaults with the Suggested Effective Date from the ECN Detail subtask (if not null), the Effective Date (from the selected line in the main screen), or the current date (if the Suggested Effective Date and Effective Date are null).

Component Released

Enter "Y" (Yes) in this required field to release this component in this MBOM; enter "N" (No) to keep it unreleased. The default value is determined by the radio button you selected in the MBOM Release Control - Default Component Release Status in Bill group box in the BOM Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.
