Use this subtask to view and update the EBOM assemblies that use the original part. If there are EBOMs that use this component in Costpoint Bills of Material, the screen will default the existing assembly parts. This subtask is enabled if the Action Code of the selected line in the main screen is "R - Replace," "V - New Rev," "O - Obsolete," or "C - Change" and you have entered an original part. However, this subtask will be disabled if the Action Code is "A - Add," or "V - New Rev" and you have not selected the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item checkbox in the Product Definition Corporate Settings subtask of the Product Definition Settings screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the ECN ID from the main screen. The unlabeled field to the right displays the description of the ECN.
This field displays the original part ID from the main screen. The part description displays in the unlabeled field beneath this field.
This field displays the revision code associated with original part ID from the main screen.
This field displays the status of the part from the Original Part Status field in the main screen, or the Basic Part Data screen (if the part is a standard part) or the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (if the part is a provisional part) in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the default inventory unit of measure code for the part from the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
If the Replace in All BOMs column is "Y" or the Action Code is "R - Replace" for the selected line in the main screen, all EBOM assemblies in which the original part/revision is listed as a component part will load in the table window with an "O - Obsolete" Action Code. If the Action Code is "C - Change" for the selected line in the main screen, all EBOM assemblies in which the original part/revision is listed as a component part will load in the table window with a blank Action Code.
Select from the drop-down box an action this ECN will perform: "A - Add," "C - Change," "D - Delete," or "O - Obsolete." This field defaults with the Action Code value as described in the "Table Window" section above.
Enter up to four digits the of line number that identifies the specific EBOM component line in this required field
Enter up to four alphanumeric characters in this optional field for the drawing find number used for this EBOM component line. Upon populating the Line field for a new line, this field will default with zeroes, but can be changed. For example, if you enter "3" in the Line field, the Find field will default to "0003."
Enter, use Lookup or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select, the assembly part ID that used the component displayed on the header.
Enter, use Lookup or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select, the assembly part revision associated with the assembly part.
This field displays the description of the assembly part.
Enter the component type code in this required field: "B" (Buy With Component), "S" (Standard), "P" (Phantom), "R" (Reference), "T" (Tool), or "D" (Deleted). If this is a new line, the default is the component's part type from the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
Enter the quantity type code in this required field: "A" (Per Assembly), "R" (As Required), or "O" (Per Order). If you have selected the As Required checkbox in the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition for the component part, or the Comp Type is "R" (Reference), the default for this field is "R." If the Comp Type is "T" (Tooling), the default for this field is "O." Otherwise, the default is "A."
Enter up to 14 digits in this required field, including four digits after the decimal point, for the quantity of the component part required in the EBOM. If the Qty Type is "R," the default is zero. Otherwise, the default is "1."
Enter "M" (Make) in this required field if the component is to be manufactured or "B" (Buy) if it is to be purchased. The default is the component part's make/buy designation from the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the ID of the configuration in which this component will be used when planning this EBOM. This is an optional field of up to 10 alphanumeric characters. If entered, this ID must be a valid BOM configuration ID from the Configuration Identifiers screen in Costpoint Bills of Material. This field will be hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.
This field displays the configuration description. This field will be hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen of Costpoint Bills of Material.
Enter the date on which this component will become effective in this EBOM. This field is required. The default is the EBOM component's effective starting date, otherwise the Suggested Effective Date in the ECN Detail subtask will display.
Enter the date on which this component will cease being effective in this EBOM. This field is optional and can be changed. Depending on the Action Code in the main screen, this field defaults with the Suggested Effective Date from the ECN Detail subtask (if not null), the Effective Date (from the selected line in the main screen), or the current date (if the Suggested Effective Date and Effective Date are null).
Enter "Y" (Yes) in this required field to release this component in this EBOM; enter "N" (No) to keep it unreleased. The default value is determined by the radio button selected in the EBOM Release Control - Default Component Release Status in Bill group box in the BOM Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.
If you did not select the Use Extended Length Reference Designators checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen, enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters of reference designator text for this component on this assembly. This field is optional. However, if you selected the Use Extended Length Reference Designators checkbox, you can enter up to 32,000 alphanumeric characters in this field. This field displays any reference designator text that was assigned for the component part line in the Component Reference Designators subtask of the Maintain EBOM and/or Release EBOM screens.
Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters in this optional field for comments that apply to this EBOM component. This field will display any comments already entered for the EBOM component.
