COPY PART COMPONENTS DATA

Use this subtask to copy an EBOM from another assembly part/revision.  Access this subtask by selecting the Copy EBOM pushbutton in the MBOM Components subtask. This subtask is disabled if component lines already exist for the assembly part.

If the Action Code in the main screen is "C - Change" and you use this subtask, the EBOM components will populate the table window, but the Action Code for each component line will be blank. If the Action Code in the main screen is "A - Add," "R - Replace," "V - New Rev," or "O - Obsolete," the Action Code for each component line will be "A - Add."

Note: When you copy component lines from an EBOM to an MBOM, only standard parts are copied.  Any provisional component lines existing in the EBOM that is being copied are excluded.

Assembly Part to Copy

Part

Enter, or use the LookUp or LookUp Prov Part pushbuttons to select, the assembly part from which you want to copy component parts.  The part description will display in the unlabeled field beneath this field.

Rev

Enter, or use the LookUp or LookUp Prov Part pushbuttons to select, the assembly part revision from which you want to copy component parts.

As-of

Enter the as-of effective date of the BOM for which you want to pull components. Only those components that are effective as of this date will be copied.

Configuration

Enter, or use the LookUp pushbutton to select, the EBOM configuration for which you want to pull components. If entered, only those components valid for the specified configuration will be included. This field will be hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.

LookUp

Use this pushbutton to look up and select data for a selected field.

LookUpProvPart

Use this pushbutton to look up and select a provisional part ID whose EBOM is being copied.
