COSTPOINT EMPLOYEE INSTALLATION

The People domain menu in Costpoint version 5.0 has been reorganized to eliminate the duplication of applications (including Maintain Employee Master, Basic Employee Info, Salary Info and History, etc.) that exist in prior versions. Costpoint Employee consolidates these applications into one central location where you can add, update, report, and delete employee information easier and more efficiently.

User Group security must be set up in Costpoint 5.0 for the applications that exist in the new Employee module.  We suggest that you print both the User Group Rights Report and User Override Rights Report (in Costpoint System Administration) from your current Costpoint version/database before converting your data to the Costpoint 5.0 database.  If you print both reports for all People domain modules [LD (Labor), LV (Leave), PR (Payroll), HA (Affirmative Action), HB (Benefits), HC (COBRA Administration), HK (Deferred Compensation Admin), HP (Personnel) and HS (Compensation)], you can use them as a template to set up your User Group Rights and User Override Rights for Employee (EM) module applications in Costpoint 5.0.

Depending on your current organizational security setup, you may also need to use the Enable/Disable Org Security for Modules application to apply or disable org security for the applications that were moved to the new Employee module.
