Use this screen to print a summarized BOM report for a selected range of assembly part numbers. You can print a summary of first-level, specified levels, or all levels of components of the assembly. When the engineering BOM features are functional (i.e., the Use Engineering Bills of Materials checkbox is selected in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen), you can use this report function to print summarized MBOMs or EBOMs.
Use this group box to customize the primary sorting criteria of the report.
Select this radio button to sort components of the assemblies in part number order.
Select this radio button to sort components of the assemblies in commodity code order.
Select this radio button to sort components of the assemblies by make/buy code.
Use this group box to customize the secondary sorting criteria of the report, when the primary sorting criterion is Make/Buy.
Select this radio button to sort components by part number within make/buy code.
Select this radio button to sort components by commodity code within make/buy code.
Use this group box to select which assembly parts to include in the summarized BOM report.
Select a range of end part numbers to include in the report. The system-defined selections in this drop-down box include "All," "One," "Range," "From Beginning," and "To End." The default for this field is "One."
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select, the ID of the assembly that is to be the starting point of the BOMs to explode. This field can have up to 30 alphanumeric characters and must be a valid part number from the Basic Part Data screen (for standard parts) or from the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts) in Costpoint Product Definition. If you selected the Manufacturing radio button in the BOM Type group box, you can enter, or use Lookup to select, only standard parts for this field. However, if you selected the Engineering radio button, you can use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to look up provisional parts. You can also enter, or use Lookup to select, a standard assembly part.
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select the revision of the assembly that is to be the starting point of the BOMs to explode. This field can have up to three alphanumeric characters, and must be a valid revision number for the part from the Basic Part Data screen (for standard parts) or from the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts) in Costpoint Product Definition.
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select the ID of the assembly that is to be the ending point of the BOMs to explode.

Use the selections in this group box to customize the report to print summarized BOMs for all configurations, for a specific configuration, or for a specific date.
Enter the as-of component effectivity date for the selected assembly. The report will include only those components with a starting effectivity date that is earlier than, or the same as, the as-of date and an ending effectivity date (if not blank) later than the as-of date.
Use Lookup to view the serial number ranges of the assembly to determine the configuration/as-of date for the report. This field is accessible only if you selected "One" as the Range in the Select Assembly Parts group box.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the BOM configuration ID for the selected assembly. This field is available if you selected the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen and the range selected in the Select Assembly Parts group box is "One." This field can have up to 10 alphanumeric characters, and must be a valid ID from the Configuration Identifiers screen.
If you enter a configuration ID, what prints on the report depends on whether that configuration ID appears on a given assembly line. If a line exists with the entered configuration ID, that line will print. If no line exists with the entered configuration ID, but there is a line without a configuration ID, the line without a configuration ID will print. If a line cannot be found that contains either the entered configuration ID or an empty configuration ID field, no line will print.
Use the selections in this group box to customize the report to print either Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) or Engineering Bills of Material (EBOMs) based on the selected assembly part(s).
Select this radio button to print the MBOM for this assembly. You can enter only standard parts in the Select Assembly Parts group box when this radio button is selected; the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton is disabled.
Select this radio button to print the EBOM for this assembly. If you select this radio button, you can use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to look up provisional parts in the Select Assembly Parts group box. You can also enter, use Lookup to select, a standard assembly part. This radio button is enabled when the Use Engineering Bills of Materials checkbox is selected in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen.
Use the selections in this group box to include or exclude certain types of components. If you select either the Make Parts or Buy Parts checkboxes, and the same component is listed as both a make and a buy part in the BOM, only the quantities associated with the selected make/buy code are included in the report. If you select both Make Parts and Buy Parts but have selected the Make/Buy radio button in the Comp Primary Sort group box, the report will print the part twice, once as a make part (with associated quantities) and again as a buy part (with associated quantities).
Select this checkbox to include make parts.
Select this checkbox to include buy parts.
Select this checkbox to include any reference parts and their components on the BOM.
Select this checkbox to include any tooling parts and their components on the BOM.
Select this checkbox to include phantom parts and their components. If this checkbox is unchecked, only the components of phantom parts will be included in the report.
Select this checkbox to include any as-required parts and their components on the BOM.
Select this checkbox to include any omit-requirements parts and their components on the BOM.
Select this checkbox to include any components of stop-explosion subassemblies on the BOM.
Use this group box to specify the component level(s) of the assemblies to include in the summarized report.
Select this radio button to summarize the BOM for only the first-level components of the selected range of assemblies.
Select this radio button to summarize the BOM for all levels of components of the selected range of assemblies.
Select this radio button to summarize the BOM through a specific number of levels, entered in the adjacent field, for the selected range of assemblies.
Select this radio button to print the BOMs to a report or ASCII print file.
Select this radio button to send the BOM to an Impromptu table for customized reporting.
Select this checkbox to include planned component shrinkage quantities in the report. The shrinkage quantities will be incorporated in the line with the requirement quantities, unless you select the Display Scrap/Yield Qty Separately checkbox.
Select this checkbox to print planned component shrinkage quantities on a separate line in the report. This field is available only if you have selected the Include Scrap/Yield Qty checkbox.
If you selected the Engineering radio button in the BOM Type group box, you can use this pushbutton while in the Select Assembly Parts group box to look up a provisional part. This pushbutton is disabled if you select the Manufacturing radio button.
