COMPONENT SUBSTITUTE PARTS

Use this subtask to view the substitute parts information for a selected component.  You can assign substitute part information to the component part in the Substitute Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition.

Assembly

The fields in this group box provide basic information about the assembly.

Part

This field displays the assembly or parent part for which the BOM was created. A description of the part displays in the untitled field below this field.

Rev

This field displays the revision of the assembly or parent part for which the BOM was created.

BOM Status

This field displays the release status of the BOM for the assembly part.

Component

The fields in this group box provide details about the component lines of the assembly part, subject to the selection criteria.

Level

This field displays the level of the component line in the BOM of the part. This field is hidden if the Single-Level radio button is selected in the BOM Levels group box in the main screen.

Line No

This field displays the line number for the BOM component line selected from the main screen.

Find No

This field displays the drawing find number for the BOM component line selected from the main screen.

Part

This field displays the component part number for the BOM line. A description of the part displays in the untitled field below this field.

Rev

This field displays the component part revision for the BOM line.

BOM Make/Buy

This field displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the component.

Table Window

Seq

This field displays the sequence in the order of preference.

Substitute Part

This field displays the substitute part ID that can be exchanged for this component.

Rev

This field displays the revision of the substitute part.

I/C

This field displays "Y" or "N," indicating whether or not this substitute part is completely interchangeable with the specified component.

Description

This field displays the description of the substitute part.

U/M

This field displays the unit of measure of the substitute part.

M/B

This field displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the substitute part.

Table Information

For manufacturing BOMs, the information that displays in this screen is stored in the following tables: MFG_BOM, ITEM, PART, and SUBST_PART.

For engineering BOMs, the information that displays in this screen is stored in the following tables: ENG_BOM, ITEM, PART, and SUBST_PART.
