Use this subtask to view reference information for the selected component. You can assign reference designator text to the component for the selected BOM assembly in the applicable MBOM or EBOM screen.
The fields in this group box provide basic information about the assembly.
This field displays the assembly or parent part for which the BOM is being created. A description of the part is displayed in the untitled field below.
This field displays the revision of the assembly or parent part for which the BOM is being created.
This field displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the assembly.
This field displays the release status of the assembly part from the main screen.
This group box displays details about the component lines of the assembly part, subject to the selection criteria.
This field displays the level of the selected component part from the main screen.
This field displays the line number for the BOM component line selected from the main screen.
This field displays the drawing find number for the BOM component line selected from the main screen.
This field displays the component part number for the BOM line. A description of the part displays in the untitled field below.
The component part revision for the BOM line displays in this field.
This field, from the component line of the main screen, displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the component.
This field displays reference text for the selected component line. If the Use Extended Length Reference Designators checkbox is selected in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen, this field can contain up to 32,000 characters. Leave this checkbox unselected if the standard 254-character length applies. Changing the status of this checkbox after certain Reference Designator fields have been populated and saved may cause data integrity problems. For manufacturing BOMs, the information that displays in this screen is stored in the following tables: MFG_BOM, MFG_BOM_REF, ITEM, and PART.
For engineering BOMs, the information that displays in this screen is stored in the following tables: ENG_BOM, ENG_BOM_REF, ITEM, PART, and PROV_PART.
