Use this screen to print an indented or single-level costed BOM for a selected range of assembly part numbers. You can also use this screen to update the total cost of assembly items by rolling up the cost of all components and adding any assembly "this-level" costs. You can print the first-level components of the assembly, the entire indented BOM through all the levels, or an indented BOM through a specified number of levels. When the engineering BOM features are functional (i.e., the Use Engineering Bills of Materials checkbox is selected in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen), you can use this screen to print either MBOMs or EBOMs.
Use this group box to select which assembly parts to include in the report.
Select a range of end part numbers to include in the report. The system-defined selections in this drop-down box include "All," "One," "Range," "From Beginning," and "To End." The default for this field is "One."
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select, the ID of the assembly that is to be the starting point of the BOMs to explode. This field can have up to 30 alphanumeric characters and must be a valid part number from the Basic Part Data screen (for standard parts) or from the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts) in Costpoint Product Definition. If you selected the Manufacturing radio button in the BOM Type group box, you can enter, or use Lookup to select, only standard parts for this field. However, if you selected the Engineering radio button, you can use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to look up provisional parts. You can also enter, or use Lookup to select, a standard assembly part.
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select the revision of the assembly that is to be the starting point of the BOMs to explode. This field can have up to three alphanumeric characters, and must be a valid revision number for the part from the Basic Part Data screen (for standard parts) or from the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts) in Costpoint Product Definition.
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select the ID of the assembly that is to be the ending point of the BOMs to explode.
Enter, use Lookup, or use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to select the revision of the assembly that is to be the ending point of the BOMs to explode. This field can have up to three alphanumeric characters, and must be a valid revision number for the part from the Basic Part Data screen (for standard parts) or from the Maintain Provisional Parts screen (for provisional parts) in Costpoint Product Definition.
Use this group box to specify the level of explosion of components to include in the report.
Select this radio button to explode only the first-level components of this assembly.
Select this radio button to explode all components of this assembly with their related level numbers.
Select this radio button to explode components of this assembly up to a specific number of levels, entered in the adjacent field.
Use the selections in this group box to customize the report to print either Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) or Engineering Bills of Material (EBOMs) based on the selected assembly part(s).
Select this radio button to print the MBOM for this assembly. You can enter only standard parts in the Select Assembly Parts group box when this radio button is selected; the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton is disabled.
Select this radio button to print the EBOM for this assembly. If you select this radio button, you can use the Lookup Prov Part pushbutton to look up provisional parts in the Select Assembly Parts group box. You can also enter, use Lookup to select, a standard assembly part. This radio button is enabled when the Use Engineering Bills of Materials checkbox is selected in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen.
Use this group box to customize the report to print BOMs for all configurations, for a specific configuration, or for a specific date. You must enter an As Of Date and/or a Config.
Enter the component effectivity date for the assembly to include in the report. If you enter an As of Date, the report will include only those components with a starting effectivity date that is earlier than, or the same as, the As of Date and an ending effectivity date (if not blank) later than the As of Date.
Use Lookup to view the serial number ranges of the assembly to determine the configuration/as-of date for the report.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the BOM configuration ID for the selected assembly. This field is available if you selected the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen and the Range selected in the Select Assembly Parts group box is "One." This field can have up to 10 alphanumeric characters, and must be a valid ID from the Configuration Identifiers screen.
If you enter a configuration ID, what prints on the report depends on whether that configuration ID appears on a given assembly line. If a line exists with the entered configuration ID, that line will print. If no line exists with the entered configuration ID, but there is a line without a configuration ID, the line without a configuration ID will print. If a line cannot be found that contains either the entered configuration ID or an empty configuration ID field, no line will print.
Use the selections in this group box to include or exclude certain types of components.
Select this checkbox to include any reference parts and their components on the BOM.
Select this checkbox to include any tooling parts and their components on the BOM.
Select this checkbox to include any as-required parts and their components on the BOM.
This group box includes various cost options to use with the costed BOM report for buy parts.
Select this radio button to use item standard costs for buy part cost rollup.
Select this radio button to use item reference costs for buy part cost rollup.
Select this radio button to use item last costs for buy part cost rollup.
Select this radio button to use project/item standard costs for buy part cost rollup.
Select this radio button to use project/item reference costs for buy part cost rollup.
Select this radio button to use project/item last costs for buy part cost rollup.
Select this radio button to use inventory average actual costs for buy part cost rollup.
This group box includes various cost options to use with the costed BOM report for make parts.

Select this radio button to use project/item last costs for make part cost rollup.
Select this radio button to use inventory average actual costs for make part cost rollup. Selecting this radio button enables the Make Inv Abbrev and Assumed Order Lot Size fields. If the Make Part Cost Type is Inventory Average Actual for make parts, non-material costs will not roll-up to the assembly from components, but will be taken directly from inventory. This could create a situation where the non-material cost of a parent assembly may actually be less than a child subassembly.
Select this radio button to use routing costs in the make part cost rollup. Selecting this radio button enables the Make Inv Abbrev and Assumed Order Lot Size fields, as well as the Process Options subtask.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a valid project ID for determining project cost information. If one of the project cost types for either make or buy parts is selected, this is a required field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a valid inventory abbreviation for determining the average actual inventory cost for buy parts. If you selected the Inventory Average Actual radio button in the Select Buy Part Cost Type group box, this is a required field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a valid inventory abbreviation for determining the average actual inventory cost for make parts. If you selected the Inventory Average Actual or Routings radio button in the Select Make Part Cost Type group box, this is a required field.
Select this checkbox to increase BOM requirements for anticipated scrap and yield losses.
Select this checkbox to include burden costs in BOM cost calculations.
Enter the lot size to determine planned costs for components that are used on a per-order basis. This is a required field if you selected the Routings radio button in the Select Make Part Cost Type group box.
If you selected the Engineering radio button in the BOM Type group box, you can use this pushbutton while in the Select Assembly Parts group box to look up a provisional part. This pushbutton is disabled if you select the Manufacturing radio button.
