Use this screen to set up the controls and defaults for Costpoint Bills of Material. Set up this screen after Costpoint is initialized and before you create BOMs. You can change the settings as needed.
Selecting this checkbox requires you to access the Release MBOM screen in order to fully or partially release the MBOM of an assembly. If this checkbox is selected, you cannot directly release MBOMs in the Maintain MBOM screen. If this checkbox is not selected, you can set the MBOM to "Released" in the Maintain MBOM screen, if desired.
Use this group box to determine the default status for new component lines that are included in unreleased assemblies in the Maintain MBOM and/or Release MBOM screens.
Select this radio button to give new components of unreleased or partially released assemblies a default status of Released, where the Comp Rel Flag field is "Y" in the Maintain MBOM and/or Release MBOM screens. If the new component's status is not "Released" in the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition, and this radio button is selected when you add the component to an MBOM, the system displays a warning message.
Select this radio button to give new components a default status of Unreleased, where the Comp Rel Flag field is "N" in the Maintain MBOM and/or Release MBOM screens.
If you select the Part Status radio button, the component release status depends on the status Type of the part set up in the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition. If the component's part status is "R" (Released), "O" (Obsolete), or "S" (Phase-out), the Comp Rel Flag in the Maintain MBOM and/or Release MBOM screens will default to "Y" (released) when you add the part to a line on an MBOM. Otherwise, if the component's part status is "P" (Pre-release) or "E" (Estimating), the Comp Rel Flag will default to "N" (unreleased). If the new component's status is not "Released" in the Basic Part Data screen and this radio button is selected when you add the component to an MBOM, a warning message displays. If the assembly is released, the system will automatically set the component status to "Released."
If you select this checkbox, you must run the Release Documents screen before you can fully or partially release a document in the Maintain Documents screen. If you do not select this checkbox, you can release a document in the Maintain Documents screen by selecting "R-Released" in the Status drop-down box.
Select this radio button to give the new document a default status of "Released."
Select this radio button to give the new document a default status of "Unreleased."
