PARTS

Use this subtask to view and assign standard parts, effective dates, configuration IDs, and document print options for the document ID.

You can also assign and modify document information for a specific part in the Maintain Parts and Basic Part Data screens. Any changes made to a given part-specific document will be reflected for that part in any Documents subtask throughout Costpoint. This subtask will also display any documents that have been assigned to standard parts in the Maintain Parts screen and Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition.  Document information can also be assigned to provisional parts, but only in the Documents subtask in the Maintain Provisional Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition and Costpoint Materials Estimating.

Document

This field displays the document ID.

Rev

This field displays the document revision code.

Type

This field displays the document type.

Name

This field displays the document name.

Status

This field displays the document status from the main screen.

Default Start Effective Date

Enter the default starting effective date for this document. This field is populated with the current system date, but can be changed. When you start a new line in the table window, this date will default into the Effective Start Date field.

Default End Effective Date

Enter the default ending effective date for this document. When you start a new line in the table window, this date will default in the Effective End Date field.

Table Window

Part

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the ID of the part to which this document will be linked. This field can have up to 30 alphanumeric characters and must be a valid part ID in Costpoint Product Definition.

Rev

This field displays the last revision of the part to which this document is linked.

Description

This field displays the description of the part.

Effective Start Date

This field displays the default effective start date for the document ID and part based on the setting in the Default Start Effective Date field.  You can edit this field.

Effective End Date

This field displays the default effective end date for the document ID and part based on the setting in the Default Ending Effective Date field. You can edit this field.

Configuration

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the configuration of this part. This field can have up to 10 alphanumeric characters and must be a valid configuration ID from the Configuration Identifiers screen. This field will be hidden and disabled if you have not selected the Use Configuration IDs checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen.

Print on Purch Reports

When you add a new line and enter a new part ID, this field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced on POs, requisitions, and RFQs for this part and "N" (No) if not, based on whether or not the Purchase Orders/Requisitions/RFQs checkbox is selected for the Document Type code in the Document Types screen. You can change the value in this field. You can print purchase orders from Costpoint Purchasing and requisitions and RFQs from Costpoint Procurement Planning.

Print on Receipt Travelers

When you add a new line and enter a new part ID, this field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced on receipt travelers for this part and "N" (No) if not, based on the Document Type code's settings in the Document Types screen. You can access receipt traveler printouts in the Reports menu of Costpoint Receiving.

Print on MO Assy Sheet

When you add a new line and enter a new part ID, this field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced on manufacturing order assembly sheets for this part and "N" (No) if not, based on the Document Type code's settings in the Document Types screen. You can access assembly sheet printouts in the Print Manufacturing Order Documentation screen in Costpoint Production Control.

Print on MO Routing Traveler

When you add a new line and enter a new part ID, this field displays "Y" (Yes) if this document is to be referenced on routing travelers for this part and "N" (No) if not, based on the Document Type code's settings in the Document Types screen. You can access routing traveler printouts in the Print Manufacturing Order Documentation screen in Costpoint Production Control.

Last ECN

Enter up to 15 alphanumeric characters for the ID of the last ECN affecting this part/document. This field is optional, and is disabled if you are using Costpoint Engineering Change Notices.

Table Information

The information in this screen is stored in the PART_DOCUMENT and DOCUMENT tables. Information is also stored in and/or pulled from the ITEM and DOC_TYPE tables.
