LOCATION

Use this subtask to store file (and file copy) locations for documents that are associated with a specific part. Selected locations will word-wrap, if necessary.

Document, Rev, Type, Name, Status

These fields default from the main screen and cannot be changed here.

Location

Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters to indicate where copies of this document are stored.  Select the Browse pushbutton to see a list of network servers on which you can store the electronic file. A Windows-based Select File screen displays in which you can search the network drives and select a file. Make sure the entire directory path is loaded, including the full server and volume name, and file name. We recommend that network drive letters not be used unless all potential Costpoint users have this file location mapped to the same drive letter.

When the file is listed in the Location group box, select the Launch pushbutton to view the file.

Copy Location

Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters to indicate where extra copies of this document are stored. Select the Browse pushbutton to access this document from within Costpoint. A Windows-based Select File screen displays in which you can search the network drives and select a file.
