COMPONENT REFERENCE DESIGNATORS

Use this subtask to assign reference information to the selected component. 

Assembly

This group box provides basic information about the assembly.

Part

This field displays the assembly or parent part for which you are creating the MBOM. The field below displays a description of the part.

Rev

This field displays the revision of the assembly or parent part for which you are creating the MBOM.

BOM Status

This field displays the release status of the MBOM for the assembly part.

Make/Buy

This field displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the assembly.

Config

This field, based on the configuration identifiers entered in the main screen, contains the configuration ID used to control which components are displayed.

As of Date

This field, based on the configuration identifiers entered in the main screen, displays the effectivity date used to control which components are displayed.

Component

This group box displays details about the component lines of the assembly part, subject to the selection criteria.

Line No

This field displays the line number for the MBOM component line selected on the main screen.

Find No

This field displays the drawing find number for the MBOM component line selected on the main screen.

Part

These fields display the component part number for the MBOM line and a description of the part.

Rev

The component part revision for the MBOM line displays in this field.

BOM Make/Buy

This field, from the component line of the main screen, displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) status of the component.

Component Reference Designators

Use this field for assigning reference text to the selected component line.  If you selected the Use Extended Length Reference Designators checkbox in the BOM Corporate Settings subtask of the BOM Settings screen, you can enter up to 32,000 characters.  If the checkbox is not selected, the standard 254-character length applies. Changing the status of this checkbox after certain Reference Designator fields have been populated and saved may cause data integrity problems.  Please contact Deltek Support for assistance if this problem persists.

Table Information

The information in this screen is stored in the MFG_BOM_REF and MFG_BOM tables. Information is also stored in and/or pulled from the PART and ITEM tables.
