COBRA PROGRAM MAPPING

Use this screen to initialize the links between Costpoint projects and Cobra programs which will be used in the transfer of actual costs to Cobra.

You can select one of two options when mapping projects: The Use Mapping Table option in the Cobra Interface Settings screen, or the Costpoint Top Level Project = Cobra Program option in the Cobra Interface Settings screen.

If you select the Use Mapping Table option, only the Costpoint projects that are mapped will be extracted.

If you select the Costpoint Top Level Project = Cobra Program option, you enter the exceptions, or Costpoint projects that will not be extracted.

If you use the mapping table, you can link multiple Costpoint projects to one Cobra master program. If you use the Costpoint Top Level Project = Cobra Program option, you only need to define exceptions in the mapping table.

Select the Cobra Program check box in the Maintain Project Master screen to identify the project as a Cobra program.

Complete the information in this screen before you attempt to transfer actual costs to Cobra. To facilitate the data validation and lookup lists, enter the connection data for the Cobra database in the Cobra Database Connection group box of the Cobra Interface Settings screen.

Project Exception Mapping

Use this table window to enter the links between Costpoint and Cobra Programs. If you have selected the Use Mapping Table option in the Cobra Interface Settings screen, you must link all Costpoint projects (that have been identified as Cobra programs) to existing Cobra programs. You can identify Costpoint projects as Cobra programs by selecting the Cobra Program check box in the Maintain Project Master screen in Costpoint Project Setup. If you have selected the Costpoint Top Level Project = Cobra Program option, then you should only enter the exceptions in this table. Multiple Costpoint projects may be mapped to the same Cobra program; however, a Costpoint project can be mapped to one and only one Cobra program.

Cobra Program

Enter, or use to select, the Cobra program that you want to map to a Costpoint project. The binoculars icon will only be available if you have entered the connection information in the Cobra Database Connection group box of the Cobra Interface Settings screen. You must enter Cobra programs manually if no connection information is available.

You must select the Cobra Program check box in the Maintain Project Master screen if you want to map this Costpoint project to a Cobra program. Projects that do not have the Cobra Program check box selected in the Maintain Project Master screen will not be valid for this screen and will not be available in the binoculars icon. An error message displays if you enter a project that has not been identified as a Cobra program. You must go back and select the Cobra Program check box if you want to include this Costpoint project in the mapping.

You can only map a Costpoint project once in this screen. An error message displays if the Costpoint project already exists in the table. Also, you cannot map higher-level nodes if lower-level nodes have already been mapped.
