Field Description
Criteria Use this field to select the criterion to be used for top-down planning. You can select from the following options:
  • Total Project
  • Control Account
  • Work Package
  • Control Account Key Fields
  • Work Package Field
  • Resource
  • Resource Assignment
  • Control Account Codes 1 to 20
  • Work Package Codes 1 to 20
  • CAM
  • Work Package Manager

The choice you make in this field affects the options that are available in the remaining fields on the page. For example, selecting Control Account displays the list of available control accounts in the Selection field and disables the Include all children field.

Selection Use this field to select the portion of the project that you want to include in top-down planning. The options that are available depend on the selection you made in the Criteria field. For example, if you selected Control Account in the Criteria field, the Selection field displays a list of control accounts. This field is not available if you selected Total Project in the Criteria field.
Include all children This option is available if you select a code with children in the Selection field. Selecting this option instructs Cobra to run the process against the parent code and its children. For example, if you selected WBS code 1 in the Selection field and this has child codes 1.1 and 1.2, then Cobra will run the process against codes 1, 1.1, and 1.2.

This option is enabled only for code criteria that are hierarchical in nature, such as WBS and OBS.

Date Range Use the From and To fields to specify the date range for which you want to perform top-down planning.

Cobra files use only two decimal places to store the first result. Therefore, Cobra does not change the budget or forecast for periods in which the resulting change to the first result would be less than 1%. As a result, all calculated costs derived from these first results remain unchanged as well.
