Code Fields Tab of the Code File Properties Dialog Box
This tab displays the code fields used in the code file, also known as codes on codes.
Use this tab to identify additional code information. For example, you might want to include a WBS manager on the code file used as the WBS. Each code in the file can have an assignment to the selected manager. You can use the Copy Down Codes function to easily copy the assignment from a parent code to all child codes.
Each code field requires a prompt or field label for data entry. Code assignments can be text that you manually enter, codes from a code file (which you select in this dialog box), or assignments from the list of users in the security system. If you intend to use PM Compass and want to assign a step in the workflow to a user in the WBS manager code, for example, you must select the user field to populate these codes with the user ID.
