Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Keyboard Shortcuts

You can use keyboard shortcuts in place of many commands and options.

Keyboard Shortcut Function
CTRL+C Copy
CTRL+V Paste
CTRL+Z Undo
CTRL+Down Arrow Go to the bottom row in the grid
CTRL+Up Arrow Go to the top row in the grid
CTRL+Right Arrow Go to the rightmost column
CTRL+Left Arrow Go to the leftmost column
CTRL+TAB Move forward through the View tabs
CTRL+SHIFT+TAB Move backward through the View tabs
SPACEBAR Selects or clears a box if the active option is a check box
F1 Displays the online help for
ALT+SPACEBAR Displays the menu for the active window
CTRL+HOME Go to the top of the list
CTRL+END Go to the bottom of the list
HOME Go to the first cell or column in a row
END Go to the first cell or column in a row
PAGE UP Same as CTRL+Up Arrow
PAGE DOWN Same as CTRL+Down Arrow
CTRL+O Open
CTL+S Save
CTRL+F4 Close
