Set a Maximum Number of Login Tries

Use the EPM SA to set the maximum number of tries allowed for a user to log into Cobra before it closes.

To set the maximum number of login tries, complete the following steps:

  1. Log onto EPM SA and click Cobra in the list of products in the Explorer pane.
  2. On the menu bar, click Tools > Authentication Options.
  3. Enter a numeric value of 0 through 999 in the Max Login Retries field.

If the value in this field is greater than 0 and authentication fails, Cobra redisplays the login dialog box. If the value in this field is equal to 0 and authentication fails, Cobra will not start. By default, the maximum number of login retries is 3.
