Access Control Page of the New Code File Wizard

Use this page to enable users or groups to access the code file that you are creating.

The access control entry supports a read-only flag. The owner (or member of the SYSADMIN group) can use this feature to override the access rights otherwise permitted to the specific User/Group/Role combination.

Field Description
Owner

This field displays the user ID of the owner of the file. By default, this field displays the user ID of the user creating the file. You can change the ownership of the file by clicking in the Owner field and selecting another user ID on the Users lookup dialog box.

User

Users refer to individuals who can be given the right to open and view the code file.

Group

Groups are composed of individual users and provide a convenient way of assigning multiple user rights to the code file. Typically, a group is a collection of people working on a particular code file. A user can be a member of any number of groups. The SYSADMIN group is a special group that has access to administrative information.

Use the WORLD group to easily provide access to all users. For example, use this group to provide all users with read access to the code file. All users you define in the EPM Security Administrator (EPM SA) automatically become members of the WORLD group in Cobra. Since this special group does not require you maintain the users, you cannot select the WORLD group in the Group list in EPM SA.

Role

Roles define the permissions of a user in EPM SA. Each user has a primary role, such as an analyst or a project manager. You can override the primary role for an individual by entering a role next to a group or a user.

Read Only

This option, when checked, allows the creator of the code file (or any member of the SYSADMIN group) to provide a user or a group with Read Only access to the file.

Note: You cannot assign Read Only access to any member of the SYSADMIN group or to the owner of the file. You can modify the access control settings afterwards on the Access Control tab of the Code File Properties dialog box.
