Work Package Planning

A work package is a discrete, measurable amount of work contained within a control account. Performance is measured at the work package level in Cobra.

Guidelines for defining work packages include:

• The work package has a scheduled start and completion date.
• Performance can be objectively measured.
• The duration of the work package is relatively short, or it can be subdivided into a series of milestones that can be objectively measured.
• The work package can be assigned to a single control account.

The definition of work packages may also be affected by the organization of a linked schedule.
