Data Dictionary

The Data Dictionary report provides information about all the available data tables, columns, fields, and indexes in the Budgeting & Planning database.

This screen is accessible by any Super Administrator or Administrator user.

You can view the Data Dictionary from within the application, and you can use it to identify specific fields, or determine how certain fields are calculated, when creating your own reports through Cognos or any similar report-writing application.

To open the Data Dictionary, complete the following steps:

1. Open the Administration area and in the Reports & Actions pane, click Reports ›› Data Dictionary to open the Data Dictionary report.

2. From the DB Object Types drop-down menu, select the object type.

3. From the DB Objects drop-down menu, select the object.

4. Use the toolbar at the top of the screen to navigate between objects in the Data Dictionary, save or print the report, or export it to Excel or PDF.
