Welcome to the Budgeting & Planning Client Validation and User Management Essentials Workshop. The focus of this instructor-led webinar is the process of comparing Deltek Costpoint information with the Budgeting & Planning comprehensive project and organizational cost reports. Participants will access reports essential to the validation process to ensure the Costpoint data is properly reflected in Budgeting & Planning. Job Summary Reports and T&M Reports are used to compare Budgeting & Planning project cost figures to corresponding accounting system reports. Profit & Loss by Account and Labor Analysis reports are compared to Budgeting & Planning organization cost figures and the corresponding accounting system reports. And finally Costpoint rate summary and statement of indirect cost reports are compared to Budgeting & Planning's pool and base figures. Step-by-step instructions are provided to assist in the validation process. This is a live, instructor-led webinar in which you can participate from any location—your home, office, or on the road—simply through your Internet browser.
The User Management workshop is designed to help the administrators in your company begin setting up B&P users as quickly as possible. It is recommended that at least 2 people train as User Management administrators to ensure user access is never in jeopardy.
Each lesson walks you through the features and functionalities that are specific to administrative responsibilities. The program is meant to be a starting point for User Management administrators and is created for users who are unfamiliar with the application or for those needing a quick reminder about how to do a specific task.
This training class is focused on the functional use of the Deltek Budgeting & Planning software. It is designed with the idea that the participants are versed in Budgeting & Planning and have purchased and installed the software in their organization.
A basic understanding of the Budgeting & Planning software
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
Use the application's interface and navigate to B&P's reports that are essential for the data validation process.
Use the dynamic Project Status or Job Summary Reports and T&M Reports so B&P project cost figures can be compared to corresponding accounting system reports.
Identify Profit & Loss by Account and Labor Analysis reports so B&P organization cost figures can be compared to the corresponding accounting system reports.
Use the rate summary and statement of indirect cost reports so B&P's pool and base figures can be compared to what is reported from your accounting system.
Manage the user settings in Budgeting & Planning
Identify the general settings that can be applied
Apply all the project specific settings, such as adding project budget approvers, and changing project manager rights.
Setup organization specific settings, such as how to add org budget approvers, and how to enable other users to generate reports outside their home org.
