Use the Accessibility of First Period options to indicate if you want the data for the earliest fiscal period that you load into Costpoint Analytics to be displayed.
The purpose of this option is to give you control of how the beginning backlog amounts appear in the Backlog Analytics. When you begin using Costpoint Analytics, there is no historical data prior to the earliest fiscal period you include in the load process. As a result, the beginning backlog for that earliest period is 0, and the inception-to-date contract amounts and funding amounts that are loaded for that period come in as new contracts and new funding. If you are concerned that this startup data may be confusing to those using the analytics, you can set up Costpoint Analytics so that the earliest period cannot be displayed.
This setting affects your ability to display data for the earliest historical period for all Costpoint Analytics - Project analytics. However, the primary impact is on the detailed Backlog Analytics.
In Display First Period Data, select one of the following options:
Select Yes to allow users to display data for the earliest period. If they do, the beginning backlog amount displayed for each project for the earliest fiscal period is 0. The contract amounts for existing projects display as new contract amounts, and the funding amounts display as new funding.
Select No to prevent display of the earliest fiscal period. In that case, the amounts associated with the earliest fiscal period are the same as described above. However, that period is not available for inclusion in the analysis period, so users cannot actually display data for it. The second fiscal period is the earliest period that can be displayed, and the beginning backlog, contracts, funding, new contracts, and new funding amounts displayed for that period accurately reflect the actual activity for the period.
Normally, you do not change this setting after the initial configuration.
