AR and DSO Summary

The AR and DSO summary analytics provide the following:

  • Current AR by aging range

  • Total current AR

  • DSO value as of the end of the period in Current Period

If your review of the summary AR and DSO data suggests the need for more detailed analysis, click either Total AR or Current DSO to go to the AR and DSO tab in Costpoint Analytics - Projects.

If you have not been given access to AR and DSO Analytics in Costpoint Analytics, the Summary Dashboard tab does not display the AR and DSO summary areas.

Description

Total AR amount

The sum of invoice balances for the selected organizations as of the current date.

AR amount for an aging range

The sum of invoice balances for the selected organizations for invoices with an age in that aging range as of the current date.

DSO value

The DSO value for the 90 days prior to the end date of the period displayed in Current Period.

How Costpoint Analytics calculates DSO depends on configuration settings your system administrator selects. The default formula is the following:

AR / (Billing for prior 3 periods / 90)

However, your system administrator can substitute revenue for billing in the denominator and can include unbilled in the numerator along with AR.

Analysis Period

The Year, Quarter, and Period options on the Summary Dashboard tab do not apply to the AR and DSO summary analytics. The AR amounts are always as of the current date, and the DSO value is always as of the end of the period displayed in Current Period.
