Before you begin the security setup process, determine who will be subject to the alternate security in Capture Analytics and what access each of them needs.
To set up security for the Capture Analytics based on an alternate field, complete the following steps:
From the Admin folder in your Capture Analytics installation location, open CRM_Analytics_System_Config.qvw.
In Base Access On under Alternate Security, select the field on which you want to base the alternate security. See Security: Alternate Security for more information.
Click Save Settings for Capture Analytics Data Model Build.
Click the Configure Employee Alternate Security link below the Alternate Security setting to open the CRMAnalyticsEmployeeSecurity.xlsx file in Excel. (This file is located in the <installation location>\Analytics\Setup folder.)
Use the TabAccess worksheet to specify tab access for each user, and use the DataAccess worksheet to link the users to the appropriate security field values to control data access. See Specify Security Settings in the CRMAnalyticsEmployeeSecurity.xlsx File for more information.
Save the spreadsheet.
When you are ready to enable the alternate security, run QlikView Management Console (Start » All Programs » Deltek Costpoint Analytics » QlikView Management Console).
On the System tab, select Supporting Tasks, expand External programs, and select the Create CRM EM files task. On the General tab, select the Enabled check box to enable that task.
On the Documents tab, select Source Documents.
Expand C:\Program Files\Deltek\Analytics (or your installation location, if different from the default), expand Final and CRM_Analytics_EM.qvw, and select the CRM EM Security based on SSO UserID task.
On the General tab, select the Enabled check box to enable that task.
At this point, you can complete the implementation of alternate field security by loading the security data into Capture Analytics. You can wait for your next scheduled load process, or you can implement it immediately.
To load security data into Capture Analytics, complete the following steps:
Run the QlikView Management Console (Start » All Programs » Deltek Analytics » QlikView Management Console).
Click the Status tab and the Tasks subtab.
Expand the Publisher tasks until Reload of Translate\Data_Model_CRM.qvw is visible.
Run that task.
To verify that the alternate security is set up correctly, complete the following steps:
In Windows Explorer, go to C:\ProgramData\Deltek\Analytics\CRM.
Right-click the first CRM Analytics .qvw file, click Properties, and click the Security tab.
Verify that only the appropriate users and DeltekAnalytics have access to the file.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each .qvw file.
After the initial implementation of alternate field security, you may need to update it to add or remove users, or change security settings for existing users.
To update alternate field security, complete the following steps:
Open the CRMAnalyticsEmployeeSecurity.xlsx file in Excel. This file is in the <installation location>\Analytics\Setup folder.
Make the necessary changes to the security settings, and save the file.
For more information on editing the access settings in the Excel file, see Specify Security Settings in the CRMAnalyticsEmployeeSecurity.xlsx File.
