View and Update Competitors for an Opportunity

Use the Competition tab in the Opportunities area to view and update a list of the other companies that are pursuing the opportunity.

The grid on this tab displays the competitors that are currently associated with the opportunity. Incumbents are displayed in bold text. You can edit the strengths and weakness of those competitors, and you can add other companies as competitors.

Note: If custom grids or fields are defined for this tab in Ajera CRM (Configuration > General > User Defined Components), those grids and fields display below the competitors grid. As with standard grids and fields, you must make entries in any required columns and fields.

To view and update competitors for an opportunity, complete the following steps:
  1. Click to go to the Opportunities area.
  2. Use the search field immediately above the opportunity title to select the opportunity.
  3. Click the Competition tab.
  4. To add a competing company, do the following:
    1. Click + Add Competitor below the grid.
    2. Select the company in NAME. Type one or more characters from the company name to select from a list of companies whose names contain those characters, or click to select from the full list of companies. If the company has not yet been added in iAccess, you can click at the bottom of the selection list to display the Add Company form and add the company. Companies that are set up only as vendors in Ajera CRM are not available for selection as competitors.
  5. In STRENGTHS, enter a description of the competitor's strong points.

    Click in STRENGTHS if you want to display the complete text of a longer description.

  6. In WEAKNESSES, enter a description of the areas in which the competitor is weak.

    Click in WEAKNESSES if you want to display the complete text of a longer description.

  7. To view or enter additional information about the competitor or to identify the competitor as the incumbent for the contract, do the following:
    1. Hover over the row, and click to display the Competitor Information dialog box.
    2. In NOTE, enter any additional information about the competitor.
    3. If the competitor is an incumbent for the contract, select Incumbent.
    4. Click Save.
