Companies Associations Tab

Use the Associations tab in the Companies area to create and maintain lists of the opportunities and other companies that are associated with a company.

Contents

Note: If custom grids or fields are defined for this tab in Ajera CRM (Configuration > General > User Defined Components), those grids and fields display below the Companies grid. As with standard grids and fields, you must make entries in any required columns and fields.

Field Description
Opportunities grid This grid displays the opportunities with which the company is associated. You can establish the association of an opportunity to the company by selecting the opportunity in this grid or by selecting the company in the Companies grid on the Team tab for the opportunity in the Opportunities area. If you add, edit, or delete information in this grid, that change is also reflected in the Companies grid for the opportunity. To add another opportunity association, click + Add Opportunity below the grid.

If the list of opportunities in this grid is long and you want to locate a particular one, type one or more characters from the opportunity name in the field next to Opportunities. That filters the grid so that it only displays a list of opportunities whose names contain those characters. To restore the full list, click X at the end of the field.

Opportunities: NAME This column displays the name of the opportunity.

Click the name to display a tooltip containing opportunity information: opportunity type, estimated revenue, probability of winning, date opened or closed, status, and stage. Click More in the tooltip to display the full opportunity record on a separate browser tab. (If the row is in edit mode, you cannot display the tooltip. In that case, click anywhere outside the row to take it out of edit mode and then click the name.)

To specify an opportunity for a new association, type one or more characters from the opportunity name to select from a list of opportunities whose names contain those characters. Click to select from the full list of opportunities. If the opportunity has not yet been added in iAccess, you can click + New Opportunity at the bottom of the selection list to display the Add Opportunity form and add the opportunity.

Opportunities: OPEN DATE This column displays the date the opportunity was opened (the date on which you identified the opportunity and began pursuing the job).
Opportunities: ROLE This column displays the company's role in relation to the opportunity (Owner, Electrical Engineering, Acoustics).

To select a different role, click in this field.

Opportunities: ROLE DESCRIPTION This column displays a more detailed description of the company's role.

Click in ROLE DESCRIPTION if you want to apply special formatting (bold, color, and so on) to the description or if you want to display the complete text of a longer description.

+ Add Opportunity To associate another opportunity with the company, click this link and select the opportunity in NAME.

Click to select the opportunity from the full list, or type one or more characters from the opportunity name in the NAME field to select it from a filtered list. (Opportunities that are already associated with the company are automatically excluded from the drop-down list.)

Field Description
Companies grid This grid displays a list of other companies that are in some way associated with the company. To associate another company, click below the grid.

Note: If the selected company is set up as a vendor in Ajera CRM, the Companies grid is hidden because only client-to-client associations are supported in Ajera CRM.

When you associate an organization with the currently selected company, iAccess also adds the reciprocal association. You do not have to manually create an association for both sides of the relationship. For example, if Company A is the currently selected company and you add an association with Company B in the grid and select Competitor in RELATIONSHIP, a reciprocal association is automatically added for Company B also. If you then select Company B and go to the Associations tab to view that company's associations, the grid contains a row for Company A with Competitor in RELATIONSHIP. The entry in RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION is also automatically duplicated in the reciprocal association.

If the list of associated companies in the grid is long and you want to locate a particular company, type one or more characters from the company name in the field next to . That filters the grid so that it only displays a list of companies whose names contain those characters. To restore the full list, click X at the end of the field.

Companies: NAME This column displays the name of the associated company.

Click the name to display a tooltip containing company information: market, primary location, phone number, and company status. Click More in the tooltip to display the full company record on a separate browser tab. (If the row is in edit mode, you cannot display the tooltip. In that case, click anywhere outside the row to take it out of edit mode and then click the name.)

To specify a company for a new association, type one or more characters from the company name to select from a list of companies whose names contain those characters. Click to select from the full list of companies. If the company has not yet been added in iAccess, you can click at the bottom of the selection list to display the Add Company form and add the company.

The selection list does not include companies that are set up as vendors in Ajera CRM because only client-to-client associations are supported in Ajera CRM.

Companies: RELATIONSHIP This column displays the relationship of the company in NAME to the currently selected company.

To select a relationship, click in the field and select it from the list.

With one exception, iAccess uses the same relationship when it adds the reciprocal association. The exception is if you associate the two companies using the Parent and Subsidiary relationships. If you add an association for Company A with Company B in NAME and Parent in RELATIONSHIP to indicate that Company B is the parent company of Company A, iAccess adds an association for Company B with Company A in NAME and Subsidiary in RELATIONSHIP.

Companies: RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION This column displays a more detailed description of the company relationship.

iAccess uses the same relationship description when it adds the reciprocal association.

Click in RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION if you want to apply special formatting (bold, color, and so on) to the description or if you want to display the complete text of a longer description.

To associate another company with the company, click this link and select the company in NAME.
