General tab

Use this tab to set general properties for the column.

Field Description

Column

The name of the standard column

Heading

The name you want to call the column in the inquiry

Width

The width of the column in inches

Date range

The inquiry includes only data for a specific time period if one is selected. This field only appears for certain columns in an inquiry that contain amounts.

Formula

This field appears only if you selected Formula in the column field. It contains the name of the formula you create by clicking .

Link tab

Use this tab to add a link to the column.

Link column to

The inquiry that is the destination of the link

Column

The column in the destination inquiry where you want to set a condition

Condition

The operator that expresses the relationship between the column and the field on the right

Column or Value

The value or column that completes the condition

Text Format tab

This tab appears when you are adding a column which contains text.

Field Description

Wrap text

When selected, text wraps to the next line within a column

Note: To see all the text for some columns, such as Mailing Address, be sure to select this check box.

Limit number of characters displayed

When selected, it shows only the beginning of all text that can appear for an entry in the column. Use the Characters displayed field to indicate how much text to show.

Characters displayed

If the Limit number of characters displayed field is selected, this field appears. It contains the maximum number of characters that appear for an entry in the column. If blank, all characters appear.

Number Format tab

This tab appears when you are adding a column which contains numbers.

Field Description

Decimal places

The number of decimal places to show for amounts

Negative amounts

The way you want to show negative amounts, either with parentheses or a minus sign

Blank if zero

When selected, zero amounts appear as a blank. When the check box is cleared, zeros show for zero amounts.

Show totals

When selected, a totals line appears if applicable.

Date Format tab

This tab appears when you are adding a column which contains dates.
