Communications Tab
Use this tab to specify the email server settings and set default email addresses. These settings apply to all users.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Email Server | This is the host name or IP address of an SMTP-compliant email server. For example, smtp-mail.outlook.com if you use Office 365. |
Port | This is the SMTP port that the SMTP server that you entered above uses. In most cases it will be port 25 but in some cases, port 587 may be required. |
Use TLS |
If you use an email provider that uses TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption, such as Microsoft Office 365, select this check box. |
Username / Password | Enter a username and password if they are required by your email provider for sending emails via SMTP. This is a domain username, not a Touchstone username. For example, enter your Office 365 username and password if you use Office 365. |
Default Sender Email, Default Sender Display Name, and Domain
The Default Sender Email, Default Display Name, and Domain fields work together.
When the currently logged in user's email address domain is not the same as the domain specified in the Domain field, any emails that Touchstone sends from the user will use the default email address and default display name (<DisplayName> on behalf of <Sender> <Default Email Address>).
For example, an email is sent from johnsmith@gmail.com and the fields on this tab are set as follows:
- Default Sender Email = touchstone_admin@AZCompany.com
- Default Sender Display Name = John Smith
- Domain = AZCompany.com
The email From field will look like this:
John Smith on behalf of johnsmith@gmail.com <touchstone_admin@AZCompany.com>.
If the recipient replies to this email, the To field will display johnsmith@gmail.com.
This does not apply to emails relating to forgotten password, username recovery, changing temporary password, or any emails from EPM SA.
