Viewing the Forensic Analysis Results

After running a forensic analysis, each field listed in the General, Inputs, and Outputs menu groups of the Forensics tab displays a number in parenthesis. This indicates the number of variances relating to that specific analysis.

For example, if the Outputs group displays Total Float (27), that means that there are twenty-seven total float variances between the projects that were analyzed. You can click on the field to view variance details in the pane below.

You can hide all forensic analysis fields in the menu groups that have no variance. This allows you to more easily see those areas with variance. Select the Hide empty Forensic Analysis option on the Deltek Acumen Options (User Interface) to do this.

A blue equals sign next to the data () means that the value is the same as the base project to which it is being compared.

IPMDAR Data

When you export .mpp or Project Server schedule data to an IPMDAR file, you can select the field to be used for the task ID. This can have an impact in Forensics if you use this data in a comparison.

Acumen matches activities in Forensics using the ID; therefore, if you use an alternate field for the activity ID during the export, Forensics will not be able to compare the source and exported activities. All activities will be seen as different and nothing will match.
