Risk Range Factor
The risk range factor is a metric that shows the degree of uncertainty relative to the data that you are reviewing. Acumen displays the risk range factor on the Metric grid below the Risk Exposure chart.
This topic describes how Acumen computes the risk range factor for the different data elements that you can display.
Finish Risk Range Factor = Elapsed Risk Range / Elapsed Deterministic Duration
- Where Elapsed Risk Range is the Latest Risk Finish date - Earliest Risk Finish date for the selected item in elapsed hours.
- For Activities: Where Elapsed Deterministic Duration is the Deterministic Finish date - Deterministic Start date for the selected item in elapsed hours.
- For Finish Milestones: Milestones don't have a duration so the Elapsed Deterministic Duration is calculated as the Deterministic Finish date - Project Status date for the selected item in elapsed hours.
Start Risk Range Factor = Elapsed Risk Range / Elapsed Value
- Where Elapsed Risk Range is the Latest Risk Start date - the Earliest Risk Start dates for the selected item in elapsed hours.
- Where Elapsed Value is the Deterministic Start date - Project Status date for the selected item in elapsed hours.
Duration Risk Range Factor = Risk Range / Deterministic Remaining Duration
- Where Risk Range is Max Duration - Min Duration in working hours.
- Where the denominator is Deterministic Remaining Duration in working hours.
Float Risk Range Factor = Risk Range / Deterministic Float
- Where Risk Range is the Max Total Float - Min Total Float in working hours.
- Where the denominator is the Deterministic Total Float in working hours.
