Import Cost Data from Deltek Cobra

Use the Cost Data Import wizard to import cost data from a Deltek Cobra data (.dcde) file.

Note: In order to import cost data from Cobra, you must first select the Deltek Cobra / Cost Data and WAD option on the Platforms (Deltek) page of the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box.

To import cost data from a Deltek Cobra data file:

  1. On the S1 // Projects tab, if you want the imported data to be added to an existing project or snapshot, select that project/snapshot in the Projects pane before starting the Import wizard. If you do not want the data added to an existing project, skip this step.
  2. Export the Deltek Cobra data file from Cobra (see the Cobra help for instructions).
  3. On the S1 // Projects tab, do one of the following:
    • In the Projects pane, right-click on the project and select Import Cost Data.
    • In the Get External Data From menu group, click Cost Data > Cost Data.
  4. On the first page of the Import Cost Data wizard, select Import cost data from: Deltek Cobra.
  5. If you selected a project in the Projects pane before starting the Import wizard, the Add data to selected project/snapshot option is automatically selected. If you do not want the imported data to be added to the selected project, clear the option.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Browse to and select a cost data file. The file that you import must have a .dcde extension.

The cost project list on the Import Cost Data dialog box displays the cost project name (if it exists in the DCDE file) of the cost data. Otherwise, it displays the contract name.

  8. Select the cost project that you want to import and click Next.
  9. Select the WBS, OBS, Work Package, and Control Account fields that map to the cost data.
    1. WBS/OBS — Select the fields that map to the cost data.
    2. Use WBS and OBS as Control Account Keys — If this check box is selected, the activity maps to a work package if the Work Package, WBS, and OBS fields all match. If the check box is not selected, the activity maps to a work package if the work package fields match, and the control account key fields map to the control account ID.
    3. Work Package — Select the field that maps to the cost data.
    4. Control Account — Select the field that maps to the cost data.
  10. Click Finish.
