Variable Value/Field Procedures
Use these procedures when working with variable values and fields.

After you have defined your project variables, you can use the Activity Details Pane Project Variables tab to add values to projects. - Add Variable Values to Multiple Projects
You can use the Activity Details Pane Project Variables tab on the S1 // Projects tab to add variable values to individual projects. If you want to add variable values to multiple projects, you can use the Variable Definition dialog box. - Define A New Variable Value
When defining a metric, instead of setting criteria based on a defined value, you can describe a metric in terms of a variable. At run-time, when an analysis is run, the user is prompted to enter a value for this variable which will subsequently be used in the calculations. - Define a New Variable Field
When defining a metric, if a field to be used in a metric definition is unknown, then a variable field can be created. When an analysis is run, the user is prompted for the actual field to be assigned. - Define a Project Variable
When defining a metric, if a project value to be used in a metric definition is unknown, you can create a project variable. These variables exist at the workbook level but the individual values can be set at the project level. - Change the Value of a Variable
You can change a variable value in the Metrics pane. - Create a Variable Field with Variable Values
When defining a metric, if a field to be used in a metric definition is unknown, then a variable field can be created. When an analysis is run, the user is prompted for the actual field to be assigned.
