DOE PARS Platform Integration
The Department of Energy Project Assessment and Reporting System format (DOE PARS) is a Department of Energy contractor reporting format that uses the .zip and .json data-exchange format. You can import DOE PARS files for schedule, cost, and risk data into Acumen.
Import DOE PARS Schedule Data
In order to import DOE PARS schedule data, you must first select DOE PARS in the External Tools for Acumen dialog box when you launch Acumen for the first time. Alternatively, you can also enable the feature when you select DOE PARS in the Get External Data From group on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box Platforms (Other) page. After you select this, Acumen adds a DOE PARS menu option to the Get External Data From menu group on the S1 // Projects tab that you can click to start the import. In the Select a DOE PARS Project dialog box, you can select a baseline when you import a schedule so you can compare baseline data with the current schedule.
Import DOE PARS Cost Data
In order to import DOE PARS cost data, you must first select DOE PARS in the External Tools for Acumen dialog box when you launch Acumen for the first time. Alternatively, you can also enable the feature when you select DOE PARS in the Get External Data From group on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box Platforms (Other) page. After you select this, Acumen adds a DOE PARS option to the Cost Data Import wizard. To import DOE PARS cost data, display the S1 // Projects tab and click the Cost Data menu option to start the Import wizard.
After you select a project or snapshot, the Import Cost Data dialog box displays with DOE PARS as one of the options. Select DOE PARS to display the mapping view where you can customize where the cost data is mapped in the project schedule fields. In addition, you can choose to import cost data alongside schedule data when you select Cost Data under the Select Additional Data to Import field on the Select a DOE PARS Project dialog box.
You will have to import DOE PARS cost data against a schedule because DOE PARS cost data does not contain dates.
Import DOE PARS Risk Data
In order to import DOE PARS risk data, you must first select DOE PARS in the External Tools for Acumen dialog box when you launch Acumen for the first time. Alternatively, you can also enable the feature when you select DOE PARS in the Get External Data From group on the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box Platforms (Other) page. When this is selected, Acumen adds a DOE PARS menu option to the Get External Data From menu group on the S1 // Projects tab that you click to start the import.
If the DOE PARS file you selected contains risk data, specifically DS15_risk_register data, you can choose to import risk data along with the schedule data. Acumen then loads the risk data from the risk register to map. This data is then used to determine the risk probability.
Mapping Incoming DOE PARS Fields
When you import a schedule from a DOE PARS file, Acumen automatically maps the standard DOE PARS fields to Acumen fields (see Standard Field Mappings); however, you can use the Field Mapping tab to map custom/user-defined DOE PARS fields to Acumen fields.
