  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Desktop Client System Requirements

Review system requirements for the desktop client. The requirements differ slightly, depending on the application version.

Deltek Vantagepoint 3.0.x

Internet Connection

The minimum recommendation is a broadband connection with at least 1,024 Kbps (1 MB) symmetrical throughput speeds.

Many factors contribute to the performance of any cloud-based software solution. When determining the bandwidth necessary for your organization, it is important to consider that a company’s Internet connection typically supports a broad range of functionality (email, Internet access, other cloud software, and so on). The recommendations provided here are the minimum required for Vantagepoint, without other resources competing for Internet bandwidth. Additional bandwidth may be required, based on company size and Internet needs beyond those required to run Vantagepoint optimally.

Operating System

  • Windows 10, 32-bit or 64-bit
  • Windows 8.1, 32-bit or 64-bit
  • Windows 7, 32-bit or 64-bit

Web Browser

  • Internet Explorer 11 or later
  • Microsoft Edge (latest build)
  • Microsoft Edge based on Chromium

You cannot use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

Users who have a browser other than Internet Explorer as their default browser can create a shortcut for launching Vantagepoint, using standard Windows shortcut functionality. They should enter the target in this format (replacing the paths and URL with those specific to the company and workstation):

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" https://companyname.deltekfirst.com/companyname

You can download the following components from their respective company’s web sites:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 or higher (.NET Core is not supported)
  • Acrobat Reader 9.x
