Groups Open Plan Tab

Use this tab to control which Open Plan menu items and features are visible and accessible to members of a group.

The tab displays a hierarchical tree of all securable Open Plan menu items and features, organized across three columns:
  • Main Menu: Displays the hierarchical structure of Open Plan features, organized by parent and child nodes.
  • Visible: Controls whether a menu item displays to group members.
  • Enabled: Determines whether group members can actually use a menu item.
Note: To keep the interface manageable, the tree is collapsed by default, displaying only parent nodes for easy navigation. Expand a parent node to view and configure the child menu items beneath it.

Each item in the tree has check boxes in both the Visible and Enabled columns, giving you granular control over every menu item. For bulk updates, use the master check boxes at the top of each column to select or deselect all items at once

When you create a new group, Open Plan applies default settings -- all menu items are set to visible but disabled. This means group members can see the menu items but cannot use them until you explicitly enable access. This gives you a safe starting point, allowing you to enable only the features each group needs rather than manually restricting unwanted ones.

Field Description
File This level of the Open Plan hierarchy controls the permissions that are granted to the group for files. It controls the following items:
  • New
  • Manage Files
  • Share
  • Preferences
  • Applications
Integration This level of the Open Plan hierarchy controls the permissions that are granted to the group for transferring of data between a wide variety of applications and Open Plan using the standard and custom import or export specifications. It controls the following items:
  • Import
  • Edit Script
Tools This level of the Open Plan hierarchy controls the permissions that are granted to the group for application-wide items on the Tools menu. It controls the following items:
  • User Defined Fields
  • Note Categories
  • Calculated Fields
  • Filters
  • Sorts
  • User Defined Validations
  • Global Edit
  • Batch Global Edits
  • Email Advisor
  • Rollup Definitions
  • Spread Curves
  • Reporting Calendars
  • Group Delete
  • Browser Views
Project Templates This item controls whether the members of the group can create and delete project templates.
Views This item controls whether the members of the group can create and delete project templates. It controls the following items:
  • View Preferences
  • Title Blocks
  • Bar Sets
  • Conditional Formatting
