Groups General Tab

Use this tab to create or modify a group profile.

Field Description
Group ID

Enter the group ID. You can enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters and spaces.

Group Description You can enter a descriptive name for the group to help you sort data properly. You can use up to 50 alphanumeric characters and spaces.
Manager You can select a manager from the drop-down list.
Primary Role You can select a role from the list of currently defined roles in PPM Security. These roles define the type of tasks that the assigned users can perform. By default, this field is blank.
Group Authorized Control Country Enter the country for which the group members can view data. You can input a search keyword, and the application will filter the available options accordingly.

If the Enable Authorized Control Countries Validation option is selected on the System Settings tab, the group members must have at least one authorized country on the Users General tab that matches the value in the Group Authorized Control Country field.

For instance, if Group Authorized Control Country is set to US, and User1 has US and Canada as Authorized Control Countries, while User2 has Canada and Australia, only User1 is considered valid and can be added because one of the user's Authorized Control Countries matches the Group Authorized Control Country.

When changes are made to ACC assignments in PPM Administrator, such as updating user or group ACC assignments on the Users General tab or Groups General tab, these changes are not automatically reflected in the PPM product's access control list (ACL). To validate and update the project’s ACL based on the latest ACC assignments in PPM Administrator, you must log into your product and manually add or remove the affected users or groups from the project’s ACL. This step ensures that the product's ACL aligns with the latest ACC configuration in PPM Administrator.

Note: You cannot assign control countries to the SYSADMIN group. The Group Authorized Control Country field is always disabled for SYSADMIN on the Groups form.
