Custom Navigation

This item of the Deltek PM Compass hierarchy controls all new options that you add to the Navigation menu of Deltek PM Compass using the Navigation Menu Designer in PM Compass.

Any addition, deletion, or reorganization of options using the Navigation Menu Designer in PM Compass reflects in the options tree on the PM Compass tab of the Roles form in PPM Administrator. PPM Administrator, however, does not know the tree structure applied to PM Compass.

When you add a menu option (for example, New Node) to the Navigation menu of PM Compass (for example, General Import and Export), the new option displays under the Custom Navigation menu option on the PM Compass tab of the Roles form in PPM Administrator. By default, the added option has the Visible and Enabled permissions.

If you change the permission type of a parent level menu option (in our example, General Import and Export) to invisible (not Visible) and Disabled, all menu options under that node also become invisible and disabled. The New Node menu option under Custom Navigation, however, remains Visible and Enabled. When users with this role to log on to PM Compass, they do not see the options, which include the added New Node.
