User-Defined Info Subtask

Use this subtask to enter data in the user-defined fields for a new business budget.

The labels that appear for each type of user-defined field are first set up in Projects > Project Setup > Project Setup Controls > Manage User-Defined Labels.

If you are entering a new business, click the Autoload button to load all available labels. If a label's Required field is Y (Yes), you must fill in the information for that label:

  • If the Data Type is T (Text), you must enter a value in the Text Value field.
  • If the Data Type is N (Numeric), you must enter a value in the Numeric Value field.
  • If the Data Type is D (Date), you must enter a value in the Date Value field.

FieldDescription
Data Type

This non-editable field displays the data type that was defined on the Manage User-Defined Labels screen in the Projects domain. The options are:

  • D: Date
  • N: Numeric
  • T: Text
Labels

This non-editable field displays the labels created for this new business on the Enter/Manage User-Defined Labels screen.

Text Value

This column displays the selected value, if any, for this text label.

Numeric Value

This column displays the selected value, if any, for this numeric label.

Date Value

This column displays the selected value, if any, for this date label.

Costpoint Validation Field

This column displays the Costpoint field that is the source for acceptable entries into this row.

Validated Text

This column displays a Y (Yes) if special text items were created for this row in the Validated Text table on the Manage User-Defined Labels screen.

These items are available in . An N (No) in this column indicates no special items were created for this row.

Required

This column displays a Y (Yes) if this item is required for each new business and an N (No) if this item is not required for each new business.

Autoload

If you are entering a new project, click this button to load all available labels. You cannot click this button if rows already exist on this subtask.

If a label's Required field is Y (Yes), you must fill in the information for that label:

  • If the Data Type is T (Text), you must enter a value in the Text Value field.
  • If the Data Type is N (Numeric), you must enter a value in the Numeric Value field.
  • If the Data Type is D (Date), you must enter a value in the Date Value field.

If the Required field is N (No) for a label, you need not enter any information.
